Effective September 6, 2026
QuickQuake ("the app," "we," "us") provides real-time earthquake alerts based on your location. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and your choices. "Users" are defined as anyone who uses QuickQuake, including its API.
QuickQuake does not require an account, name, email, or phone number. When you use the app, we collect:
Anyone who accesses our public earthquake feed directly (rather than through the app), including other developers or services, is also a "user" under this policy. For that traffic we automatically log standard web server data, IP address and request timestamp, used only for security and abuse prevention, and kept only briefly.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, browsing history, or any advertising identifiers.
We use the information above solely to operate the app's core function: detecting earthquakes near your location and delivering timely alerts. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
Your location, device token, and preferences are retained for as long as you have the app installed and location/notifications enabled. Only the most recent location update is retained. If you disable location access or delete the app, we stop receiving new location updates. Deleting your account from Settings in the app removes this data from our servers immediately and permanently.
QuickQuake is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted connections between the app and our servers) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately for what we collect.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective date" above.
